Your Journey to Feeling Empowered starts here.
I am Ave Jackson — a Barrister and Personal Development Coach for lawyers.
My ultimate goal in working with you is to see you achieve the transformation you seek.
About Ave Jackson Coaching and My Story
As a Barrister and Coach, I bring my analytical mindset, years of experience of asking the right questions at the right time and my own, personal experience — to every coaching session.
Qualifications
I completed International Coaching Federation (‘ICF’)Accredited Coaching Training programme with Barefoot Coaching Ltd.
I am currently working towards my Associate Certified Coach accreditation.
I hold BA (Hons) Law and Business from the University of Liverpool.
I studied Graduate Diploma in Law at the University of Law, Chester and Bar Professional Training Course at the BPP University, London.
My Journey to Coaching.
For as long as I can remember, I wanted to become a barrister.
At 19, I moved to the UK from Estonia — alone, with no connections, no legal experience, and still learning English.
I arrived with big dreams and bold ambitions.
At the time, I was told that becoming a barrister would be near-impossible for someone like me: no links to the profession, no roots in the country, and English not being my first language.
My path to the Bar was far from smooth.
I studied my BA, then the GDL and BPTC, all whilst working to support myself.
I took risks, faced rejection and put in years of hard work to build a legal career I had once only dreamed of.
For a long time I was entirely focused on my career.
I pushed through without stopping to check in with myself — something I now realise I should have done.
I became increasingly run down and eventually, physically unwell. It took time to rebuild my health.
What followed was a period of deep reflection, learning, and a shift in perspective.
I began to find new ways to live, work and lead — ways that aligned with who I am, rather than who I thought I had to be.
Now, through coaching, I help others navigate their personal and professional challenges — so they can succeed on their terms, too.
What is involved?
If you have never been coached before and do not know what to expect — think of having a reflective space where you can share and explore your thoughts, ambitions and doubts — without being judged.
Think of having an opportunity to choose whether you would like to be challenged — to have to look deeper inward at the beliefs and patterns that will emerge through our work.
Ultimately, you can think of coaching as having someone hold up a mirror for you — to ask the right questions, for you to hear your own thoughts more clearly and with more empathy.
You do not need to be at a breaking point to benefit from coaching. You do not need to explain why you, as a professional, might want to press pause and reflect.
Some of my clients have said that being coached by me allowed them to meet the real ‘them’, others said it has taken the weight off their shoulders and offered the long missing clarity.
My approach to coaching has been described as intuitive, provocative and empathetic.
Whatever it is you are seeking to explore - whether you are looking to remove the blocks that are holding you back from progressing your goals, wanting to re-assess your current circumstances and stop ‘feeling stuck’, navigating a career crossroads or simply wanting a chance to reflect — my approach is to provide you with a trusted space for that.
Your level of professional seniority, precise occupation and other similar detail does not make you any more or less suitable for coaching.
These details do not come into play because it is not about me telling you what to do.
It is not about fixing you.
It is about helping you see yourself courageously and with renewed clarity.
